According to Fremont the most common culprit of a late season fire is hunters, farming equipment, or cars in tall grass.

The most crucial aspect of the presentation was FireSmart, which is anything you can do to prepare for or prevent a wildfire.

“The key principle of FireSmart is education. If you’re aware of the risk and you know what to do about it, then it’s the small things that make a difference and it’s not that difficult to do the small things,” said Fremont.
