Jubilation Program and Prince Albert Aid to the Homeless and the Hungry – The two social agencies have been coordinating food donations in Prince Albert for years.  They are looking for ways to support a major increase in demand for services and food this time of the year.  If you know an outfitter or hunter within your respective churches, would you be able to tell them that donations of “wild meat” would gladly be accepted by “Prince Albert Aid to the Homeless and the Hungry”.  Cutting and wrapping, or de-feathering (ducks & geese) is not necessary as it can be done by our volunteers.  Thanks for thinking about the hungry in Prince Albert and Area.  Call Angela Impey at 306-940-4241.

Syria Emergency Relief Fund – The Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops, the Canadian Catholic Organization for Development and Peace (D&P), the Catholic Near East Welfare Association (CNEWA) and Aid to the Church in Need are launching for the first time, a joint appeal to the generosity of all Canadians, showing the magnitude of this tragic crisis.  The Canadian government has announced the Syria Emergency Relief Fund will match donations made by Canadians to organizations responding to this crisis, including D&P, CNEWA and Aid to the Church in Need made before December 31, 2015.

This fund was announced in the wake of a mass influx of refugees from Syria, as well as from Iraq, Afghanistan, Eritrea and other countries plagued by poverty, war and lack of human rights, that are making treacherous journeys to enter Europe. Pope Francis has called on parishes around the world to open their doors to Syrian refugees, and dioceses across Canada have launched sponsorship initiatives.
