A woman charged for a fatal hit and run in Prince Albert has accepted responsibility for her actions and is now awaiting sentencing.

Danielle Kitzan appeared Monday afternoon at provincial court and by way of her lawyer, a guilty plea was entered to failure to remain at the scene of an accident.

A sentencing hearing has been scheduled for Jan. 8, 2027.

The collision happened on August 1, 2025 in the 1400 block of Second Avenue West just after 10 p.m.

A Prince Albert Police Service officer happened to be on patrol in the area and witnessed what he thought was a collision between a vehicle and two pedestrians.

He immediately went to the scene where he saw the two victims laying on the street with serious injuries.

Both Amy Lariviere, age 34 and Warren Dalton, age 56, were taken to hospital by Parkland Ambulance. Lariviere passed away shortly afterwards.

The vehicle, which was operated by Kitzan, left the scene. At the time of her arrest two months later, Kitzan was 45 years old.
