Vehicle stolen at gunpoint north of Prince Albert

Jul 2, 2026 | 3:58 PM

A Canada Day carjacking north of Prince Albert is being investigated by RCMP, while two suspects continue to evade police.

Prince Albert RCMP were told at about 1:45 a.m. on July 1 that four people with a gun threatened three other people at a business on Highway 2, just north of the city. After getting the keys, the suspects fled north on Highway 2 in both their own vehicle, a black SUV, and the stolen vehicle, a 2020 Hyundai Tucson SUV with Saskatchewan licence plate 754 KSI.

The SUV was initially seen travelling along Highway 355 near Sturgeon Lake First Nation. Officers activated their emergency lights and sirens, but the driver did not stop. When last seen, the stolen SUV was heading west on Highway 263 near Christopher Lake.

One of the suspects is a woman who may have had pink hair and was wearing a baseball cap. A second thief was wearing a blue or black plaid jacket. No other details are known about the suspects, who remain at large.

Prince Albert RCMP are asking anyone with information about the incident, or who witnessed suspicious activity in the areas near Prince Albert, Sturgeon Lake First Nation or Christopher Lake in the early hours of July 1, to contact police by calling 310-RCMP. Information can also be submitted anonymously by contacting Saskatchewan Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or www.saskcrimestoppers.com

Prince Albert RCMP continue to investigate.
