Thieves shoot after victims flee attempted robbery at Sturgeon Lake

Two people were injured after an attempted carjacking on the Sturgeon Lake First Nation early on May 23, according to Prince Albert RCMP.

At about 3 a.m., three people were parked in a vehicle in the community when an SUV pulled up and the occupants demanded the victims get out. Instead, they refused, and while attempting to flee, the suspects shot at the victim’s vehicle, hitting it and injuring two of the occupants.

One person was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, while the second one was treated at the scene by EMS.

The SUV is described as black or dark-coloured with a sticker that may be white and blue on the back window of the passenger side. The occupants were both men and one was wearing a mask.
