RCMP arrest three with slingshot, coke and meth outside of the Sask. Pen.

Three people are in custody after RCMP found cocaine, meth and a slingshot in a suspicious vehicle outside of the Saskatchewan Penitentiary several days ago.

Officers were called around 9:20 p.m. on Jan. 11 by Corrections staff after they found a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot with three people inside.

During the following investigation, officers seized 70 grams of methamphetamine, about 42 grams of cocaine, 38 pharmaceutical-style pills and trafficking paraphernalia.

They also found a homemade slingshot used for launching drugs over the fence.

Jacquelyn Charles, age 23 and Keenen Grimard, age 25, both of Prince Albert were arrested as was 50-year-old Mervin Vermette of Shellbrook.

They are all charge with three counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking. Vermette appeared in Prince Albert Provincial Court yesterday and Charles and Grimard will make their appearances on March 3.
