Cam Broten wins Sask. NDP leadership race

Cam Broten is the new leader of the Saskatchewan NDP after a very close election.

Broten defeated Ryan Meili on the second ballot, by 44 votes – 4,164 to 4,120.  Trent Wotherspoon bowed out of the race after the first ballot which showed him to be behind by more than a thousand votes.

Before the vote, the three candidates made speeches and according to reports, Broten's focused on the past successes of the NDP in the province.
