Start of $28 million Highway 102 upgrade delayed
The start of a $28 million project to enhance Highway 102 between La Ronge and Sucker River has been delayed.
That’s according to an email from the Ministry of Highways to larongeNOW, which states the project was unable to start as early as anticipated because the contractor has other projects on the go.
The email said the situation is not uncommon for Saskatchewan’s 26,000 km provincial highway network, which is the largest in Canada on a per capita basis.
“An estimated $28 million project to improve about 25 kilometers of Highway 102 north of La Ronge and an access road at Sucker River remains on target to be completed by the end of 2025,” the email read.
