Firefighters rescue SPCA pups

It’s hard to know who is better at rescuing, the Prince Albert SPCA with 41 rescue dogs or the local fire department with 21 bags of food for the dogs.

On Friday morning, the SPCA put out an appeal for dog food after getting 11 new dogs yesterday and having only one bag of food left.

That’s when Prince Albert firefighters sprang into action and bought 21 bags of food for the hungry pups.

The rescuers even delivered the bags of food to the other rescuers, saving a trip.

There are multiple ways to help the shelter feed the dogs, including by emailing money or taking the food to Mann Northway, which will donate one bag of food for every other bag brought in.

The SPCA said they are being overwhelmed with the sheer volume of stray dogs brought in and are almost at capacity, with only one open spot left.
