Woman caught by Melfort RCMP officer excessively speeding with THC levels

Mar 12, 2023 | 5:08 PM

A member of the Melfort Combined Traffic Services had a handful to deal with when he pulled over a driver for speeding.

The officer ended up clocking a 21-year-old woman driving going 153 km/h in a 100 km/h zone on Highway 41 between Saskatoon and Wakaw.

They ended up performing an oral fluid test and determined the driver had THC in her system. Unlike alcohol, the province has a zero-tolerance policy for cannabis use and driving.

The woman ended up getting $1,412 in fines, $832 for speeding, and $580 for driving without reasonable consideration for others.
