Raiders look to get back in win column against surging Blades
The Prince Albert Raiders (25-33-3-0) are hoping to end their four-game losing streak this afternoon as they head into rival territory to duke it out with the Saskatoon Blades (44-13-4-1) for one last time this season.
The Blades got the better of the Raiders in their last game as Saskatoon scored five unanswered to down PA 6-2 on Friday night at the Art Hauser Centre. The win was the Blades’ eleventh in their last twelve games and extended their point streak to 12 consecutive games. The impressive streak has led to Saskatoon reentering the CHL’s top ten where the Blades are ranked 10th in the country.
The Raiders on the other hand are still in the hunt for a playoff spot however, their chances are looking slimmer with each passing day. Entering tonight, PA sits in eleventh in the Eastern Conference and six points back of the Swift Current Broncos for the final playoff spot. The Raiders have seven games remaining on the schedule.
Today’s late afternoon tilt is the final meeting of the season between the storied rivals where Saskatoon holds the season series advantage at 7-1-1-0.
