Stanick caps thrilling comeback win for Raiders
SASKATOON, SK – For the second time in a week, the Prince Albert Raiders trailed by multiple goals and were in need of an offensive outburst to claw out a win. For the second time in a week, they got all the offense they needed.
Six different players scored, and the Raiders came from behind to erase a 5-2 deficit and beat the Saskatoon Blades 6-5 in overtime on the road. Sloan Stanick scored the overtime winner for the second consecutive game, while Ryder Ritchie, Hayden Pakkala, Landon Kosior, Niall Crocker, and Aiden Oiring scored in regulation.
The Blades started hot, with a powerplay goal by Jake Chiasson late in their first man-advantage of the game. Then, after stymieing a Raiders power play, they got a goal just moments later from Brandon Lisowsky, who cashed the rebound of a shot off the left pad of Max Hildebrand.
Ritchie had the Raiders answer for the first period. On the power play, he took a feed from Kosior and ripped home a one-timer for his 16th goal and 40th point of the season.
