Dawn Walker court appearance pushed back until April

Feb 16, 2023 | 11:13 AM

Dawn Walker will be back in court in April.

Last summer, Walker disappeared along with a young child, and the discovery of her abandoned truck in a park close to the South Saskatchewan River prompted a massive search effort. The two were found safe two weeks later in Oregon City by American law enforcement.

Walker is now facing charges including abduction in contravention of a custody order, forging a passport, and possession of forged documents. She pleaded not guilty to all nine charges in January, electing to take the charges to a trial in provincial court that is expected to last three weeks.

Walker’s matter did not end up going before a judge Thursday, after a closed-door case management hearing decided the appearance would be pushed back for ongoing case management.
