How are Prince Albert residents celebrating Valentine’s Day

Feb 14, 2023 | 8:00 AM

It’s considered the most romantic time of the year, however, many in Prince Albert they’re treating Valentine’s Day as just another day.

While some have plans with their significant others many told paNOW they simply have nothing going on.

One woman did jokingly mention that her kids have taken over the day in recent years and things aren’t changing, at least for the time being.

“They think it’s their big day, so the activities are all focused on them,” she said. “We’ll get them their favourite food, wings and poutine.”

One man noted he and his wife are planning to change up their routine by going to a restaurant for dinner.

“Usually I just cook her something to eat and buy her a piece of jewellery.”

A couple of people, who don’t have plans for Valentine’s Day, did highlight what their perfect day would be if they were to celebrate.

“Nothing fancy, I’d just like to go to a restaurant and spend time with (my fiancée),” one woman said.

Another woman explained she’d love to spoil her partner.

“I’d get a gift for my husband, he wouldn’t get one (for me) because for me that’s better,” she joked stating her husband would never let her do this.

Meanwhile, Scentiments Floral in P.A. got an early start to Valentine’s Day as they took time this past weekend to give 43 pink and purple roses to Ukrainian newcomers.
