Mintos split weekend set against Maulers

YORKTON, SK – The Prince Albert Mintos and the Yorkton Secon Maulers split their pair of games this past weekend in Southeastern Saskatchewan.

The Mintos doubled up the Maulers on Saturday 4-2, while Yorkton returned the favour on Sunday afternoon when they won 3-2.

Konnor Watson, Nolan Patterson, and Owen Nelson finished the trip with two points each for PA with Watson scoring twice, Patterson potting two assists, and Nelson getting one of each. Along with Watson, Owen Nelson, Owen Dyck, Carter Cole, and Logan Pickford also scored for the Mintos while Scott McLean, Abinet Klassen, and Caden Dunn were the other assist-getters for the Mintos.

For the Maulers, Boston Schmidt, Tyler Gudjonson, Alex Morrison, Leo Jewitt, and Edward Knittig each scored, while seven other Yorkton skaters collected assists.

Jayden Kraus and Brady Holtvogt both combined for 41 saves on the weekend where the Mintos now sit with a 12-9-0-1 record on the campaign.

Wyatt Bouvier and Blake Sittler split games this weekend where they also both made a total of 41 stops. Yorkton now stands with an 8-12-0-3 record this season.

The Mintos continue their lengthy road trip on Wednesday night when they head east to Tisdale to face off against the Trojans.
