Wastewater COVID up by 36 per cent
The viral load of COVID-19 in Prince Albert’s wastewater increased by just under 36 per cent in the most recent reporting period.
Despite the increase, the number is the second smallest load recorded since January 2022 and is still in the low range, according to the monitoring page on the University of Saskatchewan’s website.
The previous weekly average was 10,000 copies of the gene in 100 mL of water compared to the increased rate of 14,000 gene copies per 100 mL.
According to the report, the increase is a “slight week to week variation” and not indicative of a prolonged trend.
