Man charged after man found dead on Beardy’s and Okemasis’

Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crime Unit have made an arrest following a suspicious death on Beardy’s and Okemasis’ Cree Nation.

RCMP were called to the Cree Nation after 22-year-old, Cody Tait of Saskatoon, was found after Rosthern RCMP received a report of a shooting in the community at about 5:50 pm on March 27.

As result of investigation, Robbie Cameron of Saskatoon, Sask. was arrested on March 29 and charged with one count of second degree murder.

He was remanded to appear in Saskatoon Provincial Court on March 30.

The investigation continues and officers believe there are additional suspects. Anyone with information should call their local RCMP detachment at 310-RCMP. Information can also be reported anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or www.saskcrimestoppers.com.
