Twenty-two-year-old dead after reports of shooting at Beardy’s and Okemasis’

A 22-year-old man found on a road in Beardy’s and Okemasis’ yesterday is dead, RCMP said.

The man, whose identity was not released, was found after Rosthern RCMP received a report of a shooting in the community at about 5:50 pm yesterday.

Officers found the victim on the road and, despite life-saving attempts, said he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The victim was from Saskatoon and his family has been notified.

The Saskatchewan Major Crime Unit has taken over the investigation and is notifying residents to expect an increased police presence in the community.
