A fourth person has been arrested and charged in connection with the death of a Prince Albert man last December in Regina.

Ryan Sparvier, 26, is facing a charge of second degree murder and made his first court appearance Friday morning.

The case dates back to Thursday, December 16, 2021, when police were called to Regina’s Greenberg Park at approximately 5:15 p.m. for the report of a deceased person. Members of Regina Fire and Protective Services were already on scene and EMS had confirmed the person to be deceased.

The victim was later identified as 22-year-old Harvey Beatty.

Sparvier, who is from Grenfell, was arrested on Thursday.

Three other individuals have already been charged in this homicide: 41-year-old Aaron Craig Alexson and 30-year-old Toni Marie Manitopyes were arrested in January, and Natrone Moran was arrested on Feb. 23.

In a previous interview with paNOW, Beatty’s mother said he had been released from custody about a week before his death, and she questioned why he had been dropped off in Regina.

Sally Sewap also acknowledged her son had been an active gang member, but added he had also expressed to his loved ones a desire to make a positive change and leave that lifestyle.
