Mar 17, 2022 | 12:00 PM

The U13 Beachcomber Foxes can hold their heads high following Wednesday night’s battle with the Northwest Wings that ended in a 5-2 loss.

Netminder Brianna Brataschuk faced 63 shots, and Jaryn Fidler scored both goals.

With the win, the Wings clinch the best-of-three series. Game one was played on Monday and the Wings won that game by a score of 8-2.

The Northwest Wings were truly the dominant team throughout the season winning all 20 games.

Prior to facing the Wings, the Foxes beat the North East Aces in the first round before facing the NW Battleford Sharks in the second round and winning two straight games (2-0; 2-1).

The Foxes finished the regular season with a record of 14-5-1. One of the key highlights was starting the year off by winning the A side tournament in Nipawin.

Olivia Trann led the team in points with 43 goals and 12 assists.
