Raiders fall 6-2 to Pats in Regina rematch
When the Prince Albert Raiders met the Regina Pats in their first exhibition game, there were shorthanded tallies each way in a close but sloppy affair. In their second game against the Pats, however, the shorthanded goals were more one-sided, and so was the score.
Cole Carrier scored a shorthanded hat trick, giving him four shorthanded goals in two games, and the Raiders fell 6-2 to the Pats at the Brandt Center. Michael Horon and Evan Herman scored in the loss, while Max Hildebrand stopped 27 shots.
The Pats got the opening tally of the contest on a funny hop, as a partially blocked shot trickled through toward the net where Carter Chorney was waiting to swat it past Hildebrand.
Carrier’s first shorthanded goal of the game made it 2-0 in the second period when he stole the puck from Tre Fouquette at the line and pulled away. The veteran forward roofed a backhand to make it 2-0.
