Province reports 143 new COVID-19 cases, most in Sask. since May 31

There are now over 1,000 active COVID-19 cases in Saskatchewan after the province provided their Sunday update.

There are 1,043 active cases, an increase of 85 from Saturday’s report.

There are 143 new cases, which is the most reported in a single day since May 31 (172). Out of the new cases, 15 are in the North Central zone, with 13 in the North West and 10 in the North East. The Far North zones have 11 cases combined (five in the Far North West, four in the Far North Central, and two in the Far North East).

NITHA update

There are 125 active cases of COVID-19 in Northern Inter-Tribal Health Authority communities.

These cases are located in the Far North Central (Athabasca), 23; Far North West, 39; Far North East, 60; North Central, two; and North East, one; 4,164 cases (96 per cent) have recovered and one person is hospitalized.

There are 66 active cases of COVID-19 Variants of Concern (VOCs) in NITHA communities. These cases are located in the Far North Central; 16, Far North West, 10; and Far North East, 38; and North Central, two.
