No one was hurt after a Piper PA-42 Cheyenne aircraft landed on its belly at the Regina airport on Tuesday.

James Bogusz, president and CEO of the Regina Airport Authority, says officials are unsure what happened to the plane for it to land in such an unusual way.

“We’re not sure how the plane ended up on its belly, but our emergency crews responded immediately to the situation,” Bogusz said. “Fortunately, there are no injuries to the pilot.

“As of 12:00 p.m., our main runway is still closed because the aircraft is currently disabled there.”
