238 new COVID-19 cases, no deaths, 144 more Pfizer vaccines administered

The Saskatchewan Health Authority reported 238 new COVID-19 cases on Sunday, bringing the total to 16,083 cases.

No new deaths were reported. The new cases are located in the Far North West (17), Far North East (39), North West (23), North Central (50), North East (two), Saskatoon (42), Central West (one), Central East (six), Regina (20), South West (one), South Central (13) and South East (14) zones. Ten new cases have pending residence information.

Two previously reported cases with pending residence information have been assigned to the North West and North Central zones.

A total of 13,084 individuals have recovered and 2,841 cases are considered active. There were 109 recoveries reported on Sunday. For more information, click here.

By Sunday, 144 more doses of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine were administered. There have been a total of 3,866 doses given so far. The province has also received 4,900 doses of the Moderna vaccine—which will start being administered on Monday to the Far North Central and Far North West regions.

One hundred and fifty-two people are in hospital. One hundred and fourteen people are receiving inpatient care: eight in the North West; 29 in the North Central; 35 in Saskatoon; two in the Central East; 36 in Regina; one in the South West; two in the South Central; and one in the South East zones. Thirty-eight people are in intensive care: three in the North West; five in the North Central; 11 in Saskatoon; one in Central East; 15 in Regina; two in the South West; and one in the South Central zones.

There were 2,103 COVID-19 tests processed in Saskatchewan as of Sunday.
To date, 434,157 COVID-19 tests have been processed in Saskatchewan. As of December 29, 2020 when other provincial and national numbers were available, Saskatchewan’s per capita rate was 256,659 people tested per million population. The national rate was 366,464 people tested per million population.
