Council to vote on next steps for new rec centre
Prince Albert’s new arena and aquatic recreation centre is back on the city council agenda on Monday night.
Councillors are set to move ahead on a number of items related to the project, including awarding the tender for its detailed design and approving a permit to allow the developer to prepare the land for construction.
Less than a week ago, mayoral candidate Darryl Hickie said he would halt the project if elected and seek to build the recreation centre at a different location.
Also at Monday night’s meeting councillors will discuss mandating more notice to residents before the removal of trees as part of construction projects.
