Jul 20, 2020 | 5:30 PM

A bizarre incident Sunday morning in the west hill area was among the more notable calls over the weekend for the Prince Albert Police Service.

A 37-year-old man was spotted by police yelling and throwing garbage at a vehicle exiting a parking lot area near 28th St.W. and Second Ave. W. Upon further investigation police discovered the suspect was carrying a knife.

The driver of the vehicle also told police the suspect threw a lit cigarette at him during the altercation.

Over the total course of the weekend, police received more than 300 calls for service; the majority having to do with disturbances and intoxicated persons.

Police are also asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the person responsible for the theft of several packages of hockey cards from a local business over the weekend. The incident happened Saturday.
