Case is in Far North

One new case of COVID-19 in province, 27 active cases remain

There is one new case of COVID-19 in the Saskatchewan’s Far North region, bringing the provincial total to 649.

Of the total cases, 27 are considered active. Three people have recovered, bringing the recovery total to 611.

One person remains in intensive care in Saskatoon.

Of the 649 cases, 143 are travellers, 390 are community contacts (including mass gatherings), 79 have no known exposures and 37 are under investigation by public health.

Across the province, 51 cases are health care workers, however not all sourced their infections at work, 258 are from the Far North, 170 are from the Saskatoon area, 112 from the North, 80 from the Regina area, 17 from the South and 12 from the central region.

There are 97 cases involving people 19 years old and younger, while the remainder are adults.

There are 230 cases in the 20 to 39 age range, 198 in the 40 to 59 age range, 106 in the 60 to 79 age range and 18 in the 80-plus age range.

Fifty-two per cent of cases are females and 48 per cent are males.

There have been 11 deaths related to COVID-19 in the province.

To date, the province has performed 50,597 COVID-19 tests.

Testing is now available to anyone working outside the home or returning to work as part of the Re-Open Saskatchewan Plan.

If you are being admitted to acute care for more than 24 hours, including if you are an expectant mother, testing is available to you.

If you are immunocompromised or provide health care to someone who is, testing is available to you.
