XFM’s Kelly Taylor set to perform free online show

Mar 27, 2020 | 12:00 PM

At a time when people need a laugh the most, a Prince Albert comedian is hoping to provide it.

XFM Morning Co-host, Kelly Taylor will be providing a free Facebook live show on XFM’s Facebook page Monday March 30 at 7 p.m.

“I’ve seen some comics are doing (live shows) … I wasn’t going to do it but when the radio station mentioned it, I thought, ‘If there is something that I can do to do help back. I know some people aren’t having a good time or having a tough time with this.’ If you need a laugh, I’m on board. I’ll do it,” Kelly Taylor told paNOW.

With gatherings limited and prompts to stay at home, a typically busy spring season has dried up for Taylor.

“It’s not only comedians that have lost all their income. Everyone has lost money… I thought instead of looking for money, I’ll just toss one out for free, for people to have a laugh,” he said.

“I had so much work cancelled at the end of my March and April….It went from being a great month, to just zero. No income. That hurts, but it’s a sign of the time. You get lots of family time and I’ve been staying positive during this,” Taylor said.

Taylor is planning to do a 15-20-minute show and at this time hasn’t planned an encore performance but is not ruling it out completely.

“We’ll see how it goes, maybe it goes good we’ll plan to do more, but we’ll take baby steps first,” he said.

Taylor looks forward to the event and hopes everyone takes government recommendations seriously.

“Everyone do your part. Stay home. Isolate. We’ll get through this together. Enjoy your family,” he said.
