SaskTel waiving data charges for March

As part of its efforts to help people cope with sweeping changes brought by the COVID-19 pandemic, SaskTel is waiving all data overage charges for SaskTel wireless and fusion Internet customers, starting on Tuesday.

The change is to help support customers working from home and remotely, the company said in a media release.

The company also said there will be no data overage charges (domestically) for business and consumer customers on the its postpaid wireless plans, noSTRINGS Prepaid wireless plans or fusion Internet plans.

“SaskTel’s internet plans are already unlimited, so our customers can use as much as needed during this time with the peace of mind of having no additional fees or throttling of data,” said Doug Burnett, SaskTel President and CEO.

“In order to ensure our Wireless and fusion Internet customers also have peace of mind during this difficult time, SaskTel will waive all data overage charges on their plans.”

As for T.V., the company said it’s giving maxTV and maxTV Stream customers free access to news network and family channels. That includes CTV News Channel, CBC News Network, LCN, Family, Family Jr and Family CHRGD.

The changes take effect immediately, and they last until the end of March. Customers aren’t required to do anything, the telecom said in its media release.
