Local school donates $1,000 to Make-a-Wish Foundation

The emotional story of a Grade 10 student at their school, prompted staff and students at Ecole Valois to give back in a big way.

On Friday, Anthony Chester and Kayli Delisle helped present a cheque for $1,000 to the Saskatchewan Make-a-Wish Foundation. Last summer, Chester, who struggles with a severe nervous system disorder, received a fishing boat from the foundation. The passionate fisherman was beaming from ear-to-ear at the presentation last June.

“When we learned of Anthony’s wish, we decided that we could make a difference on a larger scale,” Delisle said.

The original idea to raise the money was pitched by the Cité (Student Leadership Council), knowing the profits would ensure the foundation could help another child’s wish come true. École Valois’ families quickly answered the call.
