Keeping the peace and quiet: PAPS reminds of noise bylaws
It’s getting noisy in Prince Albert, and the Prince Albert Police Service is reminding residents about the city’s noise regulations following a string of recent complaints.
Police were called to several instances of noise-related issues over the long weekend, including loud parties and in one instance, people working on a vehicle with no muffler who were warned about local noise regulations.
The City of Prince Albert’s Noise Bylaw prohibits unreasonable noise at any time during the day or night, especially excessive noise that may disrupt the peace or quiet of others.
Those who wish to file a complaint about excessive noise with the Bylaw Enforcement Unit will be asked to provide a signed statement about the alleged violations according to a release from PAPS. Those found to be in violation of the city’s noise bylaw can be fined $360, or in some cases, up to $2,000 if convicted in provincial court.
