Raiders drop final preseason game in Regina
After an overtime win at home where the Raiders never trailed, the Prince Albert Raiders went off to Regina Friday night for the fifth and final preseason game against the Pats.
The Raiders took the game’s first lead, and scored to end the experimental overtime, but the Pats finished regulation with a 3-2 win.
The Raiders opened the scoring at the 15:30 mark when Alisher Sarkenov won a battle on the left wall in the offensive zone, then sent the puck back to Liam Myhre on the left side blueline. Myhre fed a wide open Maddix McCagherty on the right side of the net, and he had time to pick his spot and bury it top shelf.
The Pats tied it before the end of the period though with a play that started in the corner of their own zone. Cohen Klassen came out of the battle with the puck, skated up the ice on a 3-on-2, but decided to fire it himself to tie the game at 18:02.
