Livestock show introduces Canadian Buyers Program

Oct 19, 2026 | 1:21 PM

Canadian Western Agribition (CWA) wants to bring more livestock and agriculture buyers to its annual show.

Qualified Canadian buyers based outside Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Alberta may receive up to $1,000 toward eligible travel and accommodation expenses to attend Agribition.

Agribition CEO Shaun Kindopp said bringing more buyers to Agribition adds value to the show for everyone involved.

“For our exhibitors, it means more opportunities to showcase their products to serious buyers. For buyers, it creates access to some of the best livestock, genetics and products Canadian agriculture has to offer, all in one place,” Kindopp said. “We’re excited to work to bring more Canadian buyers from beyond the Prairies to CWA.”

The program will primarily support livestock buyers, while also providing opportunities for select buyers in agricultural equipment and other agribusiness markets.

To qualify applicants must not be already registered as an exhibitor at Agribition, have the direct financial capacity or decision-making authority to purchase Canadian products or services, be interested in conducting business with Canadian businesses in livestock or agribusiness markets, and attend Agribition for a minimum of three days.

Successful applicants will be eligible for reimbursement of qualifying travel and accommodation expenses up to a maximum of $1,000 CAD per buyer. Applications for this year’s program are open until Nov. 8.
