N.S. minor hockey player pleads guilty to sexual assaulting teammate

TRURO — One of the two Nova Scotia minor hockey players accused of sexual assaulting a teammate last year has changed his plea to guilty.

The boy, who can’t be identified because of his age, had previously pleaded not guilty but changed his plea on a charge of sexual assault with a weapon in a Truro, N.S., courtroom this afternoon.

The Crown prosecutor said the victim was 13 at the time and a rookie on an under-15 hockey team in Colchester County, northeast of Halifax.

The court was told that the sexual assault happened during a sleepover on Oct. 3, 2025 involving most of the team.
