Over 200 tickets issued during Prince Albert traffic safety blitz

Over the course of two days, police in Prince Albert issued 249 tickets and 173 warnings.

The Selective Traffic Enforcement Program (STEP) was held Aug. 19 and 20, with officers focused on promoting safe driving practices and addressing traffic-related offences in the city.

Enforcement results included five roadside drug suspensions following positive THC testing; one roadside drug suspension following positive cocaine testing; and one roadside alcohol suspension. There were also two impaired driving charges; four suspended drivers identified and 10 vehicles were impounded.

Officers also conducted inspections of 17 commercial vehicles.
