Prince Albert man shares stories and laughs from last 50 years of restoring cars
If you’ve been to any of the car shows in Prince Albert in the last 50 years, chances are you’ve probably seen a Ford Fairlane Crown Victoria restored by Arnie Holmes.
At 89 years old, Holmes originally moved to Prince Albert in 1967 where he bought and ran a service station just outside of town on Highway 3. That service station is no longer there, but Holmes’ home is, and it’s there where he has restored 39 Crown Victoria’s in his life.
For years, Holmes has spent time travelling around North America finding old cars to restore, collecting novelty parts and signs, and building a collection of trinkets that show a life well travelled on the roads of North America.
When asked why the Crown Vic is the car that kept catching his eye, Holmes’ answer was simple.
