Kinsmen Pool closure only temporary
No, there isn’t a problem with the Kinsmen Pool.
Not once but twice this week, the pool has had to shut down temporarily because the water has gotten too murky to see the bottom of the deep end. For safety reasons, if lifeguards can’t see the bottom of the pool, they have to shut it down.
According to the City’s Sport and Recreation Manager Curtis Olsen, it’s just a result of high usage of the pool.
“I don’t want to say it’s common, but what will tend to happen with all the heat we’ve had and how busy the water park gets. We try to do our best, but cotton on bathing suits is really hard on your chemical, so it just beats on the chemical and so the pool starts to get murky.”
