District of Lakeland councillor tenders resignation
A six-year veteran councilor in the District of Lakeland has tendered her resignation to council, effective June 1.
Cheryl MacMillan said in her letter to council that it has been “an honour and a privilege to serve” in the role for nearly six years.
“Due to personal circumstances, I feel that I am no longer able to fulfill the responsibilities of this position in the manner that the residents and my fellow council members deserve,” she wrote in her resignation letter.
MacMillan’s letter is on the agenda of the June 10 regular council meeting.
