WATCH: Prince Albert’s annual duck launch

Intermittent rain showers didn’t appear to dampen the mood Thursday at Prince Albert’s Memorial Gardens.

Roughly a dozen local area schools and daycares came out to set their ducks free on the pond – the same ducks they’ve been looking after for the past four weeks.

One of the main goals of the annual program is to help the children learn how to care for a small animal, and this included feeding and cleaning the ducks, and naming them.

Some of the chosen names this year included Sugar and Spice, Bert and Ernie, Jello and Jelly; and Sonic and Bubbles.
