No signs Pope Francis considering resignation after critical diagnosis
There’s no sign that Pope Francis is considering resigning one week after being admitted to hospital with pneumonia and a complex respiratory infection.
The Vatican says the 88-year-old pontiff marked his one-week stay in hospital today by getting up and out of bed to eat breakfast and he had a peaceful night.
The pope has continued to work during his hospitalization, including making bishop appointments.
Francis was in critical condition Saturday after he suffered a long asthmatic respiratory crisis that required high flows of oxygen, the Vatican said.
