Raiders travel to Saskatoon to face Blades in Highway 11 rivalry

The Prince Albert Raiders (23-24-1-3) are looking to continue the success from their last game as they head to Saskatoon to face the nations-best Blades (37-9-2-3) at the SaskTel Centre.

The Raiders were winners in their last contest, downing the Lethbridge Hurricanes in a dominant 3-0 fashion. The win was the second in a row as well as the third in the last five games.

Meanwhile, the Blades have gone streaking as of late having won their last six games in a row while also riding a nine-game point streak. Over those nine games, Saskatoon have outscored their opponents 35-18 with their lone extra-time loss coming against the Raiders back on Jan. 26 when P.A. managed a 5-4 win in a shootout.

Tonight’s meeting is the eighth of the season between the storied rivals as Saskatoon has already won the season series, boasting a 5-0-0-2 record over the Raiders. In the SaskTel Centre, the Blades are near perfect with a record of 22-1-1-0.

Following the away contest, Prince Albert will return to Hockeytown North on Saturday to welcome the Brandon Wheat Kings to the Art Hauser Centre. Puck drop is slated for 7:00 p.m.

Who to Watch

Forward Brayden Dube tallied another in the goal column in his last game against Lethbridge. The marker was the third in two games for the Roblin, Man. product, which improves his totals to 13 goals and 10 assists this season. Dube is also set to play in his 50th game this season as he looks to build on a career year.

Outlook, Sask. product Cole Peardon captured the games third star during the win against Lethbridge, where he netted two assists. The pair of points snapped a 15-game pointless skid that lasted since Dec. 3. Peardon, who’s in his second season with the Raiders, has four goals and 10 assists with a +9 rating this season.
