Dec 20, 2023 | 1:00 PM

A man charged after a drug trafficking bust that occurred on Friday the 13th, is maintaining his innocence.

Fabian Sylvestre, 34, entered not guilty pleas to a number of charges including possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. The case was discussed Tuesday at Prince Albert Provincial Court.

A trial date was also scheduled for May 22, 2024 and will take place at the same courthouse.

Last October, members of the Prince Albert Crime Reduction Team (CRT) and the Prince Albert Saskatchewan Trafficking Response Team (STRT) executed a search warrant under the Controlled Drugs and Substance Act in the 2800 block of Dunn Drive.

In addition to a quantity of cocaine, officers also seized a sawed off .410 shotgun. The gun was not loaded but there was ammunition located nearby.

Sylvestre was one of three people charged. Christian John Abernethy and Kara Larson are currently on bench warrant status.
