A pair of Prince Albert Raiders will play for gold at the Hlinka Gretzky Cup Saturday morning.

Raiders forward Ryder Ritchie and Czechia import Matej Kubiesa will duke it out for gold following both of their teams’ semifinal wins.

For Canada, they advanced to the tournament championship following their dominant 7-2 semifinal win against the United States on Friday. Thirteen different Canadian skaters found the scoresheet in the game, including Ritchie who potted a single assist on Canada’s fifth goal in the third period.

Following his point on Friday, Ritchie co-leads the tournament in assists with Canada teammate Michael Misa who both have six. The Prince Albert winger is also near the top of tournament leaders in points as he’s currently sitting in second place with nine, just one back of fellow teammate and Saskatoon-born Berkly Catton.

Meeting Canada in the finals is Kubiesa and Team Czechia following their 8-2 semifinal slaughter of Finland. Although Kubiesa was held pointless in the semifinals, he’s still having himself a tournament to be proud of as the 16-year-old has three goals and an assist in four games.

The Hlinka Gretzky final is set to get underway at 9:00 a.m. CST.
