A fresh, new store for Fresh Air Experience

May 10, 2023 | 2:40 PM

There is an exciting development for outdoor sports and adventure enthusiasts in north central Saskatchewan. Fresh Air Experience, a trusted business in Prince Albert since 1979, is growing with the addition of a second location. It’s a testament to the company’s dedication to providing customers with the best selection of outdoor sports gear and equipment available.

“I’m proud of what my dad, Ron, has built. To have lasted over four decades of business in the city and within the downtown has been awesome,” said store owner Mike Horn. “I’m thankful of our community for supporting our store over that time and allowing us to grow, contribute and invest into the downtown and into our community.”

The new store will feature a huge selection of bike and board options that Fresh Air Experience has to offer including: mountain bikes, kid’s bikes, urban bikes, e-bikes and biking accessories as well as longboards and scooters. The new store will also feature a newly expanded area dedicate to wake sports including: wakeboards, wakesurf boards, tubes, water skis, kneeboards and more! The new location is located at 48-10th street east, just half a block away from the original store, at the corner of Central Avenue and 10th Street East, in a building that Horn said is very familiar to the community.

“Gene’s Sports was in this building for a long time and it’s just a really nice setup. There is about 8,000 square feet on the main level in a very bright and open space,” said Horn.

When customers walk through the front door, they can see an expansive selection of bikes and accessories all the way back to the service counter. There is a corner dedicated just to kids bikes and towards the back of the store is where all of the board sports equipment is.

“Our store was bursting at the seams so now this new space just really allows people to shop comfortably. We’ve got a really great selection of bikes that we can properly display to do them justice and make sure our customers can find what they’re looking for.”

The new space means more room in the original store to display kayaks, canoes, paddle boards and camping equipment like tents and sleeping bags. The main location will continue to have men’s and women’s outdoor and casual clothing as well as footwear.

Fresh Air Experience is known for its commitment to customer satisfaction, and the new location is no exception.

“I think customers value the fact that we do what we sell, and we’re involved in our community through fundraising for local projects and hosting different events. It shows that we’re not only here to offer our expert advice and find you the right gear for your next outdoor adventure, but we’re also helping to build a stronger community.”

While the new location is already open, Horn invites the public to join them on May 13th for the grand opening which will be followed by a week-long sales event.

Both locations of Fresh Air Experience are open in downtown Prince Albert Tuesday through Thursday 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Fridays from 9:30 a.m. to 7 p.m (after May long weekend), and Saturdays from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. For your convenience, online shopping is also available through their website. Be sure to follow them on Facebook to check out new products and deals as well.

Whatever your adventure, Fresh Air Experience knows your gear!
