Nov 29, 2022 | 4:06 PM

LAKE LOUISE, Alaska — Austria’s Nina Ortlieb posted the fastest time Tuesday in the first downhill training run ahead of a women’s World Cup alpine skiing stop this week at Lake Louise, Alta.

Ortlieb finished in one minute 50.27 seconds. She was followed by Slovenia’s Ilka Stuhec and Switzerland’s Corinne Suter, who both posted a time of 1:51.21.

Marie-Michèle Gagnon of Lac-Etchemin, Que., was the top Canadian in 10th with a time of 1:51.99.

Training runs are scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday, followed by downhill races Friday and Saturday and a super-G on Sunday.

The women are hoping for good weather this week after heavy snow postponed the men’s downhill race last week.

The downhill was moved from Friday to Saturday and held in place of a super-G race that was initially scheduled. A second super-G race went as planned on Sunday.
