Charges laid after crash that knocked out power

Prince Albert Police have charged a man with criminal negligence after a vehicle collided with a power pole, knocking out power to parts of the city this weekend.

According to a media release from the Prince Albert Police Service, investigators found an altercation took place inside the vehicle prior to the crash.

The collision happened around noon on Saturday, Nov. 19, near Sixth Avenue and River Street West.

Timothy Iron, 36, was charged with criminal negligence causing bodily harm, wilful damage, and a breach of court-ordered release conditions in relation to the incident. Iron made his first appearance in court this morning.

According to information provided by Parkland Ambulance on Saturday, paramedics cared for one male with minor injuries and he was taken to local hospital for further care.
