PARKING BAN

City declares snow route parking ban

Nov 8, 2022 | 10:00 AM

As a result of the massive amount of snow and to help with snow-clearing efforts, a snow route parking ban is now in effect for Prince Albert.

The city declared the ban at 9 a.m. Tuesday and with that, parking is prohibited on snow routes.

This means drivers need to remove their vehicles from these routes marked by snow route signs. Any vehicle not removed will be ticketed or towed.

“Our crews are out there, moving as fast as they can,” Mayor Greg Dionne said during Monday’s council meeting.

“I would like to remind residents that we have a strict program that we follow in clearing priority streets. We will not pull off our equipment to do special requests. We ask people to be patient and we will get there as fast as we can.”

Parking bans are usually in place for about 48 hours, unless persistent snowfall requires a parking ban to be declared again. In the event that a parking ban is declared, notices will be re-issued and will be posted on the city’s website.

If the priority one streets are cleared before the 48 hours have lapsed and there is no threat of a continuing storm, the parking ban may be withdrawn sooner.
