Local golfer wins Saskatchewan Women’s Amateur Golf Championships
Shell Lake’s Brooklin Fry has re-claimed the title of champion after winning the Women’s Amateur Golf Championship title for the second time in three years.
Despite shooting a 15-over par with 86 on day one of the championship, she did a full 180 and shot a five-over and 76 on day two followed by a four-over and 75 on day three, both performances being tournament bests.
Saskatoon’s Sarah Grieve started the day tied with Fry for first, but just couldn’t keep up with Fry’s stellar performance as she shot a nine-over and 80 on day three to open the door for the Shell Lake product to come in and finish with the gold.
Grieve finished on the podium, however, claiming second place by shooting 29-over while Regina’s Hallie Crozier and Autumn Neiszner tied for third with a 34-over.
