A Prince Albert man who has been on the run for nearly two years with a charge related to possessing child pornography, has been found in Alberta and has entered guilty pleas.

Nicki Daniels, 34, appeared by video when the matter was discussed Wednesday at Prince Albert Provincial Court.

During the hearing, Daniels entered guilty pleas to possessing child pornography, as well as two counts of failure to attend court, and failure to comply with a previous court order. An additional charge of failing to attend court is expected to be withdrawn by the Crown at the sentencing hearing.

The case dates back to March 11, 2020, when the initial police investigation began and four months later, the ICE Unit implemented a search warrant at a residence in Prince Albert.

While there the police seized various electronic devices and confirmed they stored images and videos of child pornography. The investigation included the possession of child porn from an online storage system from the U.S.

Daniels was released from custody at the conclusion of his first court appearance, and on August 11, 2020, failed to show up for court.

According to Alberta RCMP, Daniels was arrested recently in the Fort McMurray area for outstanding charges in that province related to breach of a court order.

He is currently being held at the Edmonton Institution. All of his charges will be brought to Alberta for sentencing at a later date.
