One of the Prince Albert Mintos’ earliest leaders has died. The Mintos announced on their Twitter page that former president, founder and board member, Zenon Markowsky, passed away. Markowsky was 75 when he died on May 7.

Markowsky was involved with the Mintos from the team’s infancy in 1999 until his passing, and helped build and lead the team that eventually went on to win three Telus Cup national championships.

Markowsky was inducted into the Prince Albert Sports Hall of Fame in 2015 as a builder for his work with the Mintos and other contributions to hockey in Prince Albert.
